I finally found them!

For the last month, Jack has been trying to find his thumb to suck on. Most of the time he keeps it tucked away in his fist and will hit himself in the face trying to aim for his mouth. He finally gave up on his thumb and found his fingers. Look at the two fingers he found...he'll either be a Rockstar or a Texas Longhorn fan.

Swimming with my girlfriend!

Our good friends, Jody and Nicole, invited us over for the day. The guys bar-b-qued and we all hung out in their pool. They have an adorable little girl, Olivia, who is one week older then Jack. Since they are so close in age, we always say Jack and Olivia will be boyfriend and girlfriend....Jody doesn't like that too much! We had such a busy weekend, we weren't planning to do anything today but it was nice to relax by the pool and hang out with friends. We had a really great time and Jack enjoyed his first time swimming. Here are a few pictures from today.

You gotta wear shades!

Mommy Turns 30!

I'm no longer in my 20's....yesterday was my 30th birthday! Some friends of ours from college got married yesterday so we celebrated my birthday on Friday. Larry and I went to dinner with some of our close friends and then met up with more friends to celebrate. I had a blast and it was nice to get out. We decided to stay in Houston that night (my first night away from Jack) but I woke up at 6:30 am ready to go home...I really missed our little guy! Uncle John and Aunt Tracy kept Jack for the night and they had a great time! My parents (Mimi and PaPa) came into to town yesterday to watch him while we were at the wedding. We had a very busy weekend and today was a perfect day to stay in our pajamas until noon, so we did!

Physical Therapy

Jack had his first physical therapy appointment yesterday morning. I was running late and then got lost so we were 15 minutes late. Our physical therapist was still able to see us for 30 minutes. She told me he had a slight tilt and it wouldn't take long to get the right side of his neck stronger...I was so happy to hear that!! She worked with him for a few minutes and then showed me what I can do at home. She was really good with Jack and he never even cried. Tummy time is a very important exercise but Jack hates it! At first he would do nothing but cry and lay face down in the blanket and now he kicks and will suck on his fist. He will sleep on his tummy, which helps to stretch and strengthen his neck. I know, its a SIDS no no but I only let him nap on his tummy and I watch him very closely. Here are a few pictures of things we've been doing to help get his neck stronger.

I'm not to sure about this Bumbo seat!

Tummy time isn't too bad.

Mother's Day and Back to Work

I had a wonderful first Mother's Day! Jack surprised me with the cutest card and a gift certificate for a mani and pedi. Since I start back to work tomorrow, Jack and I hung out all weekend. I'm ready to go back to work but I'm not ready to leave Jack. I've spent 24/7 with him for the past 2 months and its going to be hard leaving him. I am very fortunate that my job and bosses allow me to work from home 2 days a week...my bosses rock! I'll be working from home on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Jack will be with our nanny at The Shipley's on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. This first week will be tough and I'll probably call the nanny 3 times a day to check on Jack...our poor nanny will probably think I'm crazy! Jack has his first physical therapy appointment on Tuesday at 8:45 am. After doing some research and asking around, I feel much better! I've started working with him and repositioning things to help get the right side of his neck stronger. I'll let you know how his appointment goes. Happy Mother's Day to all the Mommy's!

2 Month Check-Up

Jack had his 2 month check-up today (he'll be exactly 2 months on Saturday). He now weighs 10 pounds, 12 ounces (25%) and is 22 inches long (25%). I can't believe my little baby already weighs 10 pounds!! Jack also got his first round of shots today. Larry came with us because I knew it would break my heart to hear him cry. He was not a happy boy but it didn't bother him for to long. Our pediatrician said he was doing great but was a little concerned about the right side of his head. Most of the time, Jack sleeps and lays on the right side of his head and its causing a flat spot. Our pediatrician said its called Torticollis, which is a condition that causes a baby's head and neck to tilt to one side. She wants Jack to see a physical therapist to work on getting the right side of his neck stronger. I'm a little freaked out but we should know more once we see the physical therapist. Here are a few pictures of Jack from the last few weeks!

Precious face!

His shirt says it all!

Such a BIG boy!

Jack and The Twins

Jack and I went to visit The Shipley's this afternoon. Jack is always so happy when we're over there...I think he likes hearing and being around Caden and Brooke. Caden and Brooke love Jack! They always want to touch him and give him kisses. Caden will say "Hi Baby Jack" and then makes a "Whoo" sound. While we were there today, we put Jack in the swing but the batteries were dead so Caden started pushing him. Brooke even helped, she tried to give Jack his pacifier. It was really cute and Jack loved all the attention! When I go back to work, Jack will be staying with them 3 days a week. I'm so happy we live so close and they will be able to grow up together! Larry always jokes around and says, Caden is going to be Jack's bodyguard in school!
