Merry Christmas!!

We had an amazing Christmas this year!  We had Christmas with Uncle John and Aunt Tracy on Thursday night and then we headed to my parents on Sunday to open gifts on Monday.  Jack and Taylor were spoiled with wonderful gifts!  We came home on Christmas Eve to get ready for Santa.  We made cookies and chocolate milk and we were all in bed early.  Jack and Taylor were exhausted from the weekend so they had no problem going to bed early, plus they were both very excited for Santa to stop by.

The kids must have been good because Santa left lots of fun stuff.  Jack loved everything, even Taylor's toys.  Taylor loved her dolls and loves giving them hugs and kisses.

I only have pictures from Christmas morning (I completely forgot to pack my camera).  Please excuse my shirtless child.  He doesn't like sleeping with a shirt on and he was already elbow deep in his gifts before I could tell him to put one on.

Taylor is on the move!

Taylor is officially walking and loving it!!  Over the last two weeks, she's been walking more and more and falling less.  I love watching her walk around.  She's so happy and loves chasing after her big brother!

He's Baaaack!

Leo (short for Leonardo) arrived at our house yesterday evening.  The doorbell rang and Jack looked out the window and said "it's an elf, it's Leo"! He opened the door and Leo was holding a letter and was sitting on a little 2 foot Christmas tree.  When we put our tree up, Jack asked if he could have his own tree in his room and even picked out a few of his favorite ornaments to put on it.  Santa was listening and sent Leo with a small tree and Jack was one happy little boy!

Leo wrote Jack a nice letter reminding him of the rules and how he flies to the North Pole every night to give Santa a report, but Jack remembered it all.  The first thing he said was "don't touch him".  Jack is very excited to have Leo back!

Family Pictures

It's that time of year again, when we do our family/holiday pictures, and once again, we love them all! Maria Arcement with Two Cups of Kids Photography is ahh-mazing!  Jack and Taylor did great on the day of the shoot.  Jack was his normal silly, happy self and Taylor is quite the little poser.

Click on the link below to view Maria's blog post and a few of our pictures.

Last Game

Jack had his last soccer game of the season on Saturday.  At the end of the game, his coach handed out metals to all the players.  Jack was so excited about his metal and wore it most of the day!

Jack really enjoyed playing soccer!  He was always excited about practice and the games.  His coach was wonderful and the boys loved him.  He loved being on the same team with his best bud, Connor, and was excited to make a new friend (Jack Lucas).  I'm pretty sure we will sign him up for the Spring season.  I'm sad the season is over...we all really enjoyed it!

Halloween Fun!

We all had so much fun this Halloween!  Jack's class at school had a Halloween party on Thursday.  The kids made a fun dessert and a Frankenstein pencil holder.  I love watching him interact with all his school friends!  Later that evening we headed to The Milam's to continue the Halloween celebration.  They had a great turn out and Jack was excited to spend Halloween with his best buddies!  The kids played while the adults chatted and then we all went trick-or-treating in their neighborhood.  We all had a great time!

This year Jack dressed up as Optimus Prime (Transformer) and Taylor was a Leopard Cat.  Jack loved his costume and picked it out all by himself.  We painted black whiskers and a nose on Taylor and that lasted about 5 minutes, but she was still the cutest little kitty.

Pumpkin Patch

We went to a small pumpkin patch by our house on Sunday.  Jack loves the pumpkin patch.  He runs around checking out all the pumpkins to find the perfect one for him and Taylor.  Then Jack and Daddy picked out a big pumpkin to carve.  Taylor enjoyed chewing on the stems and touching all the pumpkins.  Jack insisted on wearing his cowboy hat and boots...he looked very handsome!  Taylor wasn't feeling well and didn't want her picture taken.

Later that night, Jack and Daddy carved the pumpkin and we put it on the front porch.  And after dinner, we made s'more's (one of Jack's favorite desserts).

Taylor - 12 Month Check-Up

Taylor had her 12 month check-up yesterday morning.  She is doing great and is growing like a weed.  She had a nice growth spurt in her height.  Below are her stats.

  • Weight - 17 lbs 2 oz (10%)
  • Height - 30 inches (80%)
Taylor is not walking yet but will take 3-4 steps on her own and gets so excited after doing it!  She loves to clap her hands and play Patty Cake and loves to dance (bounce up and down).  She can say "bye bye" and wave and also says "bath" (she loves bath time). Jack loves playing with her and she thinks Jack hung the moon!  Taylor got lots of cute and fun girly toys for her birthday but she still loves playing with Jack's cars and trucks.  We love her sweet, loving personality but she will let you know when she doesn't want something or doesn't like it. She is very happy and easy going (most of the time).

Taylor's 1st Birthday!!

Our sweet Taylor turned ONE on Wednesday!  She ate her very first cupcake and loved it!  She opened her gifts from us and enjoyed tearing the wrapping paper and tissue paper.  Jack gave her a soft Cinderella doll that he picked out all by himself.

We had her party yesterday afternoon and we had a great turn out with amazing weather!  She had an owl themed party and everything turned out great!  Her smash cake and the party favor cookies were a big hit!  Taylor was not feeling so great.  She woke up early that morning with a fever and runny nose.  She wasn't in the best mood but enjoyed all the attention!  Jack also had a great time with his friends, jumping in the bounce house and helping Taylor open her gifts!

I still can't believe its been a year.  Taylor is the sweetest little girl with the cutest personality and we look forward to celebrating many, many more birthdays!

Jack's First Field Trip

Jack went on his very first field trip with his class on Tuesday.  They went to the TGR Exotics Wildlife Park and Pumpkin Patch in Spring.  Jack was most excited about riding on the bus!  He told me who he shared a seat with and how he fell asleep on the ride back to school.

At TGR Exotics, each child got a headband to color, a small pumpkin to paint and a sack lunch.  They also had exotic animals and his favorite was the Aardvarks.  He told us the Aardvark came from Africa and they look like an Anteater.

Jack had so much fun and he is looking forward to many more field trips this year!

Four Goals

Jack scored four goals at his soccer game on Saturday!  I was one proud mommy!  He did great and played very well.  He passes the ball (most of the time) to his teammates, he steals the ball from his opponents and when he's not playing, he is cheering on his team.  I love watching them play and look forward to it every Saturday!
