Rolling Over

Jack has been rolling over for a few weeks now and I finally got it on video. The first time he rolled over (back to front) was on June 9 (his 3 month birthday). When he first started, he wouldn't do it very often and it would take him a few minutes to get all the way over, but now he pulls his knees to his chest and rolls right over. There will be days he only rolls over once and then there are days like yesterday, where I can't keep him in one spot. Here's the video!

Solid Foods

We've been giving Jack solid foods for two weeks now and its going pretty good. I have come to the conclusion that he does not like rice cereal. Everytime he takes a bite, he spits it out and starts crying. At first, I thought he just didn't like using a spoon so I decided to give him a bite of sqaush to see how he would react. He loved the sqaush and ate almost 3 tablespoons on his first try. He tried oatmeal and that wasn't to bad, as long as I add a spoon full of bananas to it. He's also tried carrots, sweet potatoes and banana and strawberries and so far the banana and strawberries are his favorite. Here's a video of him eating banana and strawberries. Please excuse our dogs barking towards the end of the video.

Not feeling so hot!

Jack has not been feeling well for the past few days. He's been running a low-grade fever since Friday. I came home from work on Monday and his fever was up to 101. I talked to the doctor and she wanted me to bring him in since the flu was going around. His throat was red so she tested for strep and they also took a urine sample to check for an infection. Everything came back negative....YAY!! She thinks he may have a virus, that has to run its course, and he should be over it by Friday. She also thinks he's teething and that can cause him to run a fever. Hopefully he will start feeling better by the weekend!

Which one do I want?

This one looks good!

Happy Birthday Uncle John!

Today is Uncle John's birthday (Larry's brother a.k.a. Tio Juan...Ha Ha!). We celebrated his birthday last night at a Mexican food restaurant in Deer Park. We had a really great time and hope Uncle John had a wonderful birthday! Here are a few pictures from his birthday dinner.

4 Month Check-Up

Jack is 4 months old today! We also went for his 4 month check-up today and everything was great! Jack weighs 13 pounds and 9 ounces (25%) and is 25 1/2 inches long (75%). He also got his second round of shots. He did really well and only cried for a few minutes...I take it harder then he does! We get to start Jack on solid foods. First, we start with rice cereal and once he gets the hang of using a spoon (1-2 weeks) we can start him on veggies and then fruit. I am very excited to start him on solids. I can't wait to see the mess he makes and see all the funny faces. I'll let you know how it goes.

Jack is growing so fast and changing everyday! Here are a few fun and exciting things Jack has done in the past two months.

* Smiles all the time
* Loves to giggle (he is a very ticklish little boy)
* Can roll over from back to front and front to back
* Can do a complete 360 while laying on his back
* Talking (cooing and gurgling) up a storm
* Loves to stand up
* Can reach, grab and hold different objects in his hands
* Found his thumb...finally
* Puts everything in his mouth
* Drools nonstop
* Reaches for his feet and kicks his legs nonstop
* Loves to be held upright so he doesn't miss anything
* Very good head control
* Loves to sleep on his side (he'll roll to his side while sleeping)
* Pushing up with his arms while on his tummy
* Eats like a champ

Jack is a very good baby, he has a wonderful personality and is always happy! Here are a few pictures from the last month.

I love this picture...he's such a little man!

Jack's First Horse Ride

Jack rode a horse for the first time this weekend! We went to visit Mimi and Pops (my parents) and Pops saddled up a horse so Jack could ride. He did so good and really seemed to like it! When Jack gets bigger he will have lots of fun stuff to keep him busy when visiting Mimi and Pops...riding horses, feeding the cows and fishing in the tank Pops had built just for him. Jack even has his own cow (named Jesse) and his very own brand. He's going to be one spoiled little country boy!
