Taylor - 2 Month Check-Up

Taylor turned 2 months old on Sunday and we had her 2 month check-up yesterday.  The doctor checked her out and she's doing great and growing like a weed!  Below are her stats.

Weight - 9 lbs, 11oz (15%)
Height - 21.75 inches (20%)
Head - 14.5 inches

She had to get her first round of shots.  She was not happy but after a few minutes she was smiling and back to her happy self.  Taylor started smiling a few week ago and loves to talk (cooing and gurgling). She recently found her thumb and loves sucking on it.  She is a great sleeper and only wakes up once in the middle of the night to eat.  Jack is still really good with her and loves to hug and kiss on his little sister.

I go back to work on January 2.  I'll be working from home on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Taylor will stay at home with our nanny on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.  Here are a few updated pictures of our sweet babies.  We are truly blessed!

My Santa Babies

We took the kiddos to meet Santa and take a picture with him a few weeks ago.  Last year, Jack wouldn't sit on Santa's lap but this year, he jumped right up there with a big smile on his face.  We couldn't believe it! He told Santa what he wanted for Christmas and gave him a big hug.  He was very excited to meet him! And as for Taylor, she was sound asleep and looking cute.

Leo the Elf

Our elf arrived last night before Jack went to bed.  Jack was brushing his teeth and we heard a loud knock at the door.  Jack and Daddy ran to the door and there he was, sitting next to the book.  At first, Jack didn't know what to think and kept asking "who knocked on the door?". He couldn't believe that little elf could knock that loud.  We started reading the book and then Jack named him, Leo (I think he named him after Leonardo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). Jack was very excited to look for him this morning and here's where we found him....

Jack's reaction was priceless!  He looked at me and said "mommy, Leo ate my candy, that's not very nice".  I almost lost it!  But, then he said, "I'll share with him", and wanted to take a picture with him. .

Newborn/Holiday Pictures

We had newborn pictures taken of Taylor about 3 weeks ago and they turned out GREAT!! Maria, with Two Cups of Kids Photography, did an amazing job and we are so pleased with them.  She also took a few shots of Jack, which I'm glad because we haven't had any professional pictures taken of him since 2010. Jack had lots of fun going through her props and found a tie he wanted to wear...he looks so grown up and loves making funny faces!  Here are a few (a lot) of our favorites.

Taylor - 1 Month

I can't believe Taylor is already a month old.  She turned a month last Friday (November 16) and it seems like yesterday that we were bringing her home from the hospital.  She is the sweetest little thing and we all adore her, especially her big brother.  Jack loves to sing and talk to her....she is amazed by him!

Taylor's umbilical stump finally fell off and she loves bath time!  Jack loves helping us give her a bath and always picks out her pj's for the night.  This past month has been hectic at times but we are all adjusting very well and have really enjoyed being a family of four!

Pumpkin Patch & Halloween

We took the kiddos to the Pumpkin Patch a few weeks ago. Jack had fun running around looking at all the pumpkins! He picked out a small pumpkin for him, a tiny one for Taylor and a big one for him and Daddy to carve. Jack and Daddy did a great job carving the big pumpkin!

We had a great Halloween! Jack's school had a Halloween parade of all the kids in their costumes and then his class had a party. Jack dressed up as Spiderman and played the part very well! If anyone called him Jack, he would tell them "I'm not Jack, I'm Spiderman". Taylor didn't dress up but looked very cute in her Halloween outfit. Jack and Daddy went trick-or-treating on our friends/neighbors, The Shipleys, hayride and they both had lots of fun! Jack came home with a bag full of candy. Taylor and I hung out at the house and watched the trick-or-treaters come by.

Taylor is here!!!

Taylor Marie Furman arrived on October 16, 2012 at 11:59 pm (yes, one minute before midnight). She weighed 6 lbs, 3 oz and was 18 1/2 inches long. My induction was scheduled for that morning at 6:00 am, but it got pushed back to 4:00 pm (labor and delivery was full). They started the induction process at 5:00 pm and Taylor was here 7 hours later. Taylor is so tiny and the sweetest little thing! She looks a lot like Jack when he was born but has brown hair.

Jack is so sweet with her! He loves on her nonstop. When she cries, he runs to her and says "it's ok, your big brother is here". Jack is a big help and is a great big brother!

Taylor is now one week old and we are all enjoying her and are so happy she's here! We are truly blessed!

Update and Waiting

It's been crazy at our house and we are patiently waiting for Taylor.  I'm 38 weeks and we're so ready for her to be here.  We are adding on/renovating our house to make room for our growing family.  I hate moving and we love our house and neighborhood so we decided to add on....not sure if that was the best decision when your 9 months pregnant.  We're adding on a detach garage, renovating our current space by adding a playroom/guest room, bathroom and a mudroom (I've always wanted a mudroom).  The process is taking longer then we thought but we're halfway done.  Taylor's room is not done and will not be done until the house is complete.  I have her crib, bedding, closet and changing table set up but the guest bed is still in her room and there are no decorations on the wall.  I feel awful, but she will sleep in the bassinet in our room for 2-3 months.  Other then that, we are very excited about all the changes and can't wait to meet our little girl!

Jack is doing great!  He is now in school 5 days a week and loves it!.  He is learning so much and has made some great friendships.  He especially loves this little girl named Kate.  He talks about her all the time and his teacher told me they always sit next to each other and chase each other around the playground....he has his first girlfriend!  Jack is also very excited and ready for Taylor to be here.  Every night before bed, he gives my tummy a kiss and hug and tells her good night and I love you.  The other night, he told her to hurry and come out.  It was so cute and sweet!  He's excited about being a big brother and we know he's going to be great!

I don't have any updated pictures to post (we've been too busy to take pictures) but I wanted to give a quick update.  Hopefully the next post will be about Taylor and her arrival!!

Back to School Carnival

Jack's school had a Back to School Carnival last Saturday. I also had my baby shower that afternoon so my mom was only able to take Jack for an hour but he had so much fun! They had a bounce house, trackless train, pony rides, a petting zoo and much more. Jack got to hang out and play with all his friends but it was really hot outside and was ready to leave after an hour.

Baby Shower for Taylor

My close friends, Tiffany, Lauren, Kristen and Paige, threw me and Taylor an amazing baby shower last Saturday. The decor was so cute and the food was yummy! It was so great to get all the girls together and laugh, tell stories and catch up. Taylor received some great stuff and is already spoiled and has a closet full of clothes. We are so blessed to have amazing people in of life!!
