And he's off...and pulling up too!

Jack was showing off at Mimi and Pops this weekend! He is now crawling and figured out how to pull himself up. He is getting really good at crawling and by next week, I won't be able to catch him. When Jack woke up from his afternoon nap, this is what I found...he pulled himself up on the crib, all by himself!

Here's a video of our little guy on the move.

Pumpkin Patch

We took Jack to a Pumpkin Patch on Saturday. He was so fascinated with all the pumpkins! Everytime we gave him a pumpkin, he had a tight grip on the stem and would try to put it in his mouth. I don't know what it was about the stem but he loved it! We had a great time taking pictures and picking out our very first family pumpkin, plus the weather was awesome!

7 Months

Jack turned 7 months old today. He's been a very busy little boy this last month and has accomplished a lot! He is now sitting up, all by himself. He loves sitting up and being able to see everything from a different angle. He's also figured out how to do "push-ups" (Larry is very proud) and we think he'll be crawling very soon. He like's to get on his hands and knees and rock back and forth. He wants to crawl so badly, but can't figure it out and ends up falling to his tummy. He loves his walker! It took him about a day to realize he can move in it, but once he did, he's been on the move ever since and getting into everything! Here are a few pictures from the last month.

Sitting up!

He is so proud of himself and so are we!

Almost crawling!

What can I get into?

He looks like Popeye in this picture.

Pray for Clyde

We've had a rough week. Our dog Clyde hurt his back and had to have surgery yesterday. He all of a sudden started moving really slow Tuesday night. On Wednesday, he seemed back to his old self and then by 9:00 pm he could barely use his back legs. We called our vet and he said to bring him in first thing that next morning. The vet could not help him so they sent us to a specialist. After seeing the specialist, taking x-rays and a cat scan we found out that he had a ruptured disk. The disk was pressing down on his spinal cord, which caused his back legs to go limp. They immediately took him back for surgery. The specialist called to let us know the surgery went very well. Since he lost some feeling in his back legs, there is still a small chance that he will never walk again, but the vet seems very optimistic since we caught it so early. Clyde is half Dachshund and half Chihuahua (we call him a Chi-Winnie). Dachshunds are known for having back problems. The surgery was not inexpensive and some people think we're crazy. We've had people tell us "he's just a dog". Yea, he's a dog but he's still a part of our family and we would do ANYTHING to keep him here and healthy. Clyde and his sister, Bella, were abandoned at 3 weeks old and Larry and I took them in. When we found them, they were not in good shape. We had to bottle feed them and nurse them to good health. They really are our babies!! Please keep Clyde in your prayers.
