Boys Only...No Girls Allowed

Jack went to his first Houston Dynamo soccer game on Sunday.  Our best friends, Tiffany and Randy, gave Jack tickets for his birthday and Jack only wanted the boys to go and told me "no girls allowed", so Larry and Randy took him.  The seats were awesome...five rows up from the field.  Jack had lots of fun at the game and ate lots of cotton candy and peanuts.

After the game, they went to they're favorite bar and grille in Mid-Town to eat crawfish.  It wasn't crowded so the owner let Jack go behind the bar, play games, throw bottle caps from the second floor and take pictures in the photo booth.  He also tried crawfish for the first time and loved it.

Jack really enjoyed his day with the boys!  He is still talking about it and thinks Daddy is the coolest!

Taylor's First Week of School

My sweet Taylor started school last Monday.  We were very excited for her to start and to socialize with kids her age and to have lots of fun!  She is going to the same school as Jack, The Woodlands Young Learners Academy, but will only go 3 days a week (I'm not giving up my two days at home with her anytime soon).  You have to be at least 18 months old to start there, and Taylor has been on the waiting list since the day she was born so she would have a spot when she turned 18 months.

Taylor did very good on her first day!  She didn't cry or care that I left.  The teachers said she cried a few times during the day, but they think she was exhausted from staying so busy.  Her second and third day were good as well.  She never cries when we leave and loves the teachers and kids.  She is the littlest one in the class and the other kids think she's a baby and give her lots of attention...she loves it!

Easter Fun!

Our Easter fun started last Saturday when we went to an Easter Egg Hunt/Party at Tyler's house, Jack's friend/our neighbors.  This was the third year they've had the party and it's always so much fun for the kids and parents.  Jack got lots of eggs and Taylor enjoyed taking the few eggs she got in and out of her basket.

Jack had his school Easter Party on Thursday.  They made a cute Easter snack and then headed outside for an egg hunt. We went to my parents on Friday and spent the weekend fishing, feeding and riding the horses, hunting Easter eggs, and hanging out with family.  Jack enjoyed hanging out with his cousin Savanna.  They were two peas in a pod!  Mimi also took us to a small Easter carnival at the park on Saturday.  Jack and Taylor had lots of fun!

When we got home on Sunday, we had Larry's family over.  Larry's niece Christina, her two daughters, Kadence and Robin and his other niece Ashley were in town from Oregan.  Kadence and Jack are only a few months part so they had fun playing.  Robin is 8 months old and Taylor loved having a real baby to touch and play with. It was nice seeing them and spending time with them before they leave to go back home.

Jack - 5 Year Check-Up

We had Jack's 5 year check-up this morning.  Our pediatrician checked his vision and hearing and checked him out from head to toe, and everything looks great!  She also asked him a few questions and was very impressed with his answers.  He didn't have to get any shots and we were both happy about that.  Below are his stats.

  • Weight - 46 lbs (80%)
  • Height - 45 inches (95%)
After his check-up, we went to Housler Elementary to register him for Kindergarten for the upcoming school year.  Jack was excited, but also a little nervous.  Our next door neighbor (who Jack loves and is always asking to go to their house) works at the school and was handling registration, so after completing all the paperwork, she gave us the grand tour.  Jack got to look into a few of the classrooms, check out the gym, library, cafeteria and nurses office.  He loved the big library and is excited to go there next year!  I'm very excited for him, but I'm also very sad.....my little boy is not so little anymore!
