Tubes: Surgery Day

Jack got his tubes today and everything went great! We checked into the surgery center at 7:00 am. At 7:30 am, they gave him some medicine to help him relax. The medicine made him a little drowsy and very goofy...he was so funny! He had this funny little grin on his face the whole time and kept trying to sit up, but couldn't, so he would fall back down and start laughing. They took him back at 8:05 am and the procedure was done in about 7 minutes. Jack had fluid and puss in both ears, which they cleaned out before putting in the tubes. He was not a happy boy after waking up but was back to his old self in no time. It's amazing how quick and easy the procedure is. The hardest part is when they took him back and we went separate ways....I think mommy needed the goofy medicine more then Jack did! Our little guy did so good and hopefully he will not get anymore nasty ear infections. Thanks for all the kind words and prayers!

ENT Appointment

Jack is getting tubes. He had an appointment with an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist today and after talking to the doctor and running some tests, Jack is a good candidate. He didn't have any fluid on his ears but the tests showed he had some pressure, which is the beginning of an ear infection. Due to his history and being allergic to penicillin, which limits the antibiotics he can take, the doctor thought tubes would be the best solution. They tested Jack's hearing and he did very well. He can hear and spot an airplane in the sky from a mile away so I knew he would do great on the hearing test. I know its a quick and easy procedure but I'm still a little nervous (what Mommy wouldn't be). Jack always runs a high fever and is not a happy camper when he has an ear infection and I want my little boy to be happy and well! His surgery is scheduled for Wednesday, June 30 at 8:00 am.

Our Little Artist

Jack loves art time at school! I'm sure your wondering what kind of drawing or picture a young toddler can do. Well, you'd be surprised! Here are a few of his creations...he's quite the little artist!

15 Month Check-Up

Jack turned 15 months old yesterday and had his check-up today. Our little guy is quite the little chatter box. Sometimes we understand what he's saying but most of the time he's talking his own language. He starts jabbering and doesn't stop and it cracks us up! He understands almost everything we tell him and doesn't like the word "no". He is definitely ALL boy! He throws everything, loves to get dirty, climbs on everything and of course, he loves to run around the house naked! We recently found out he's allergic to penicillin. He's been on and off of antibiotics because of an ear infection, and a few weeks ago, he broke out into hives and his legs started to swell. We took him to the doctor and she immediately knew what it was...no more penicillin for Jack.

On Sunday, Jack woke up and his eyes were almost swollen shut. We took him to the ER and he had pink eye in both eyes and a sinus and ear infection...poor baby! We followed up with our pediatrician on Monday and she said the ear infection caused the pink eye and wants Jack to see an ENT. He has an appointment with the ENT on June 24. He has been through so much these last 2 months (strep throat, ear infections, hives, pink eye) but has been so good through all of it. He is an amazing little boy! Here are his stats, a few new things and some updated pictures.

• Weight - 21 lbs, 2 oz (5-10%)
• Height - 31 1/2 inches (50-75%)
• Can say momma, dada, uh oh, whoa, ball, bat, dot (dog), yuck, uice (juice), bath, Beda (Bella - our dog), bye bye, hi, up, book, outs (outside), pish (fish) and knows what they all mean
• Tries to repeat almost everything we say
• Can "moo" like a cow
• Puts his finger on his mouth and says "shhhh"
• Working on using a spoon
• Loves to dip veggies in ranch dressing, all by himself
• Points at everything, especially when he wants it
• Loves to go for a ride in his little red wagon
• Gives five to everyone...up high and down low
• Loves to play chase
• Makes a "roooom" sound when playing with his trucks
• Loves burritos from FreeBirds, just like Mommy & Daddy

I love summer time!

Silly Boy!

Jack loves it when Larry plays the guitar. He gets so excited and starts dancing around the room and laughing out loud. In this video he puts one leg on the bookshelf and starts dancing. We've never seen these moves before! He must have really liked the song Daddy was playing!
