Jack's 4th Birthday!!

Jack had a great 4th birthday (I can't believe he is already 4)!! He didn't start off his birthday weekend very good but it ended great! Jack was sent home from school on Thursday with a 102 fever. He was still running a slight fever on Friday but seemed to be better on Saturday and was ready to party. Jack wanted a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle party and we mostly invited friends from his school. We had his party at WonderWild and the kids loved it!! It's an indoor play ground with a bubble trampoline, bounce house, huge slide and obstacle course. We had 24 kids show up, which was more then I expected (and the party room was small) so Mommy was a little stressed, but it all worked out.

I still can't believe we have a 4 year old!  Jack is an amazing little boy with a HUGE imagination and loves to make people laugh!  We love you very much Jack Michael and look forward to many more birthdays!!

The Big Game

Jack loves playing and watching movies on the iPad or as he calls it "the big game".  He has become a pro at Angry Birds and has completed most of the levels.  He also likes to watch movies on it through Netflix.  It's amazing how well he can maneuver through it....he knows it better then me and Larry!  We also practice writing letters, numbers, patterns and other school related activities.  He likes playing games on the laptop/computer and is learning a lot from his computer class at school but he would much rather be on the iPad.  Here's a cute picture of him and Taylor watching a movie....she's starting early!

Taylor - 4 Month Check-Up

Taylor turned 4 months on the 16th and had her check-up on Tuesday.  She did great with her shots and our pedi said she's looks great!  Taylor has been sick for the past week and was put on breathing treatments.  When she was sick, she was not her happy, giggly self but now she's feeling much better.  She did have fluid in her left ear at her check-up so our pedi decided to put her on an antibiotic.  We also started her on rice cereal.  At first, she wasn't a big fan of it.  Everytime we gave her a bite, she would shake and spit it out, but now she's seems to like it.  Below are her stats and a few updated pictures.

Monster Jam

Larry and Jack went to Monster Jam with some friends and Jack loved it!  They didn't get home until late and Jack stayed up to tell me all about it.  We didn't think he would be able to go since he wasn't feeling well.  He woke up early Saturday morning with a fever.  He felt good most of Saturday morning so that afternoon we headed to a friends birthday party.  We were at the party for an hour and Jack told me he wanted to go home and I could tell he didn't feel good. He had 101 fever so we told him he couldn't go to Monster Jam and he got so sad and begged us to go.  His fever broke about an hour later and he felt much better so they went and he was so excited!  The Motrin started to ware off and Jack was ready to leave an hour early, which was fine with Larry because they missed the crowd and traffic. 

Jack's favorite truck was the Iron Man truck and the Batman truck.  Larry and Jack both had a great time and ended the night with a ride in a rickshaw. 

Monsters, Inc. 3D

Jack has been dying to see Monsters, Inc. in 3D and would ask us 2-3 times a day to take him.  Larry picked him up early from school today and they headed to the movies.  Jack ate an entire small popcorn by himself (he loves popcorn) and drank most of the drink  They had to get up one time during the movie to go to the restroom and on their way back Larry snuck them into a movie he's been wanting to see.  After standing their for a minute or so, Jack tugged on Larry's shirt and said "Come on Daddy, this is an adult movie", so they headed back to Monsters, Inc (so funny and so true).  When he got home, he told me all about the movie and showed me his 3D glasses....he was very excited and enjoyed his movie date with Daddy!

Sleeping Beauty

Taylor loves to sleep! She is already sleeping through the night (Jack didn't sleep through the night until he was 8 months old).  We put her down around 8:30pm and she wakes up around 7:30am.  Sometimes she'll wake up around 5:30am (to eat) and goes back to sleep for a few hours (I still consider that sleeping through the night). I still get up at least once in the middle of the night to check on her....I just can't believe she sleeps that long without making a peep.  We're still working on getting her on a solid schedule but we're close.  She takes 3 good naps during the day and loves taking cat naps.

Jack loves playing Patty Cakes with her.  She usually lets out a big giggle and Jack loves it!  Jack loves playing with her and always wants to make her laugh or smile...its really cute!

 

Taylor - 2 Month Check-Up

Taylor turned 2 months old on Sunday and we had her 2 month check-up yesterday.  The doctor checked her out and she's doing great and growing like a weed!  Below are her stats.

Weight - 9 lbs, 11oz (15%)
Height - 21.75 inches (20%)
Head - 14.5 inches

She had to get her first round of shots.  She was not happy but after a few minutes she was smiling and back to her happy self.  Taylor started smiling a few week ago and loves to talk (cooing and gurgling). She recently found her thumb and loves sucking on it.  She is a great sleeper and only wakes up once in the middle of the night to eat.  Jack is still really good with her and loves to hug and kiss on his little sister.

I go back to work on January 2.  I'll be working from home on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Taylor will stay at home with our nanny on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.  Here are a few updated pictures of our sweet babies.  We are truly blessed!

 

My Santa Babies

We took the kiddos to meet Santa and take a picture with him a few weeks ago.  Last year, Jack wouldn't sit on Santa's lap but this year, he jumped right up there with a big smile on his face.  We couldn't believe it! He told Santa what he wanted for Christmas and gave him a big hug.  He was very excited to meet him! And as for Taylor, she was sound asleep and looking cute.

Leo the Elf

Our elf arrived last night before Jack went to bed.  Jack was brushing his teeth and we heard a loud knock at the door.  Jack and Daddy ran to the door and there he was, sitting next to the book.  At first, Jack didn't know what to think and kept asking "who knocked on the door?". He couldn't believe that little elf could knock that loud.  We started reading the book and then Jack named him, Leo (I think he named him after Leonardo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). Jack was very excited to look for him this morning and here's where we found him....

Jack's reaction was priceless!  He looked at me and said "mommy, Leo ate my candy, that's not very nice".  I almost lost it!  But, then he said, "I'll share with him", and wanted to take a picture with him. .

 

Newborn/Holiday Pictures

We had newborn pictures taken of Taylor about 3 weeks ago and they turned out GREAT!! Maria, with Two Cups of Kids Photography, did an amazing job and we are so pleased with them.  She also took a few shots of Jack, which I'm glad because we haven't had any professional pictures taken of him since 2010. Jack had lots of fun going through her props and found a tie he wanted to wear...he looks so grown up and loves making funny faces!  Here are a few (a lot) of our favorites.
