Monkey See, Monkey Do

We went bowling last night for a friend's birthday and Jack stayed with Uncle John and Aunt Tracy. Jack likes to watch TV before going to bed....it helps him to relax and wind down. Here's a picture of Jack and Uncle John watching TV before bedtime.  Jack was copying whatever Uncle John did....this picture cracks me up!

Growing Up

I've been doing some spring cleaning and reorganizing our closets.  I pulled out a few of Jack's baby stuff and he loved his old bouncie chair.  He carried it around the house, to every room and sat in it, even though he is way to big for it!  Seeing him in the chair now makes me realize how quickly he has grown up.  I can't beleive how much he has grown in two years.  Two years ago the chair was bigger than him, and now he is bigger than the chair. They really do grow up fast!

Hair Cut & Riding Peeto

Jack doesn't have a lot of hair, it's baby fine and has a few curls in the back. We didn't want to cut it but it started to get long and a little out of control, especially after being outside for a few hours. My mom is a hair dresser so she gave him a little trim. Jack did so good and sat very still! It's not that big of a difference but it looks better and he still has his curls.

While we were visiting my parents, Jack rode Peeto with Pop. The horse's name is Frito but Jack calls him Peeto. He can't say his F's (his F's are P's - fire is pire; frog is prog, etc.). He loves riding Peeto and that's all he talked about on the way home.

2 Year Check-Up

Jack had his 2 year check-up today and here are his stats.

• Weight - 26.4 lbs. (25-50%)
Height - 34 1/2 inches (50-75%)

As soon as we walked into the doctor's office Jack started asking for a "tollipop".  The lady at the front desk gave him one the last time we were there...he has a great memory!  Our pediatrician checked him out from head to toe and said he was doing great!  He had to get 2 shots, Hepatitis A and the first round of his MMR.  Larry and I decided to hold off on giving him the MMR vaccine until he turned 2, but now he is all caught up!  Jack did really great today and was very happy to get a "tollipop".

Big boy...growing up too fast!

Choo Choo Jack is 2!

Jack loves trains so we decided to have a "Choo Choo Train" themed birthday party.  Here are a few pictures from the party.  Jack had a wonderful time and we are so thankful for all the family and friends who made his day so fun.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Jack!

I can't believe Jack is 2 years old today!  He is no longer a baby, he is now an amazing little boy (but he will always be my baby)!  We are so thankful to have him in our life and can't imagine our life without him.  We are so proud of the little boy he has become.  He's the sweetest little thing and has the cutest personality.  He makes us laugh and smile everyday!  Happy 2nd Birthday, little man!!  We love you so much!

We had a fun fulfilled day celebrating Jack's birthday.  We started off at the park for some playtime, then headed to McDonald's for lunch, came home for a short birthday nap and then spent the afternoon outside.  We went to Chuck E Cheese's for his birthday dinner.  The Shipley's joined us and we all had a great time!  The kiddos enjoyed running around and playing all the fun games.

Sliding down the "big slide" (that's what he called it)!

Here's a short video of Jack telling us how old he is....his answer is always "2 Jack"!

Is this Jack?

No, it's Larry when he was younger!  Larry found some old pictures at his parent's house and we can't believe how much they look alike.  They have the same facial expressions, eyes, nose, hair (not the color but thin with curls in the back) and are both tall and thin.  Jack has always looked a lot like Larry but I was beginning to see a little more of me in him, but not anymore...he's mostly Daddy with a little bit of Mommy!

23 Months

Can you believe Jack will be 2 years old in less than a month....I can't!  He's growing up way too fast and I wish I could slow him down.  He's at a fun and challenging age.  He talks all the time and is full of energy!  He's so stubborn and knows exactly how to push our buttons but is very sweet and polite...he says "please" and "thank you", knows to say "bless you" after someone sneezes and says "sorry" when he's not being nice.  Our little helper loves to help bring in the groceries, pick up his toys, cook dinner, pick up sticks in the yard and lots more!  He gets very shy in front of a crowd and stays close to Mommy, but once he warms up, he's a little ham.  Jack is now in the Early Pre-School Class at school and is loving it!  His new teacher said he was doing great and fits right in.  They have been working on numbers and he is doing a great job of counting to 10.  Well, he actually counts to 9...when he gets to 10 he claps his hands and yells "Yaaayyyy".  It's so cute and I kind of like it his way!  We are definitely going to enjoy his last month as a one year old!

Ready for school...and we can't forget "banky"!

Jack likes to turn over his chair and ride it like a horse.  He even says "giddy up horse"!

It's 4 o'clock...

and we're still in our pj's!  It's too cold to go outside so we're staying in.  We've come up with some fun stuff to keep us busy and entertained......

but I think someone is itching to go outside.
